Wow I'm so behind on posting.....

Okay I have been SO bad at posting my recent sessions! This post will be pretty picture heavy with a few of my sessions I've done recently.

But before that.....I really can not believe it's almost school time. I've never really cared much about the fact that school was starting but more so that that meant it was going to start getting cold and dark early! But now Noah, my oldest son, will be going to preschool. Last night we went school shopping and he got a few new jeans and shirts along with a backpack. I can tell you this much that this momma is going to have a hard time the first day of school. He's always been with me, everyday.... now he's going to SCHOOL. He is only going 1/2 days two days a week but my mothering nature kicks in and I worry about how he will do academically and socially. But I guess at some point you have to let them go and now you've done your best =)

This little peanut was awake for almost over half of the session. She wanted so badly to fall asleep but was fighting it as hard as she could. She finally fell asleep and was soundly sleeping long enough to get some adorable shots.

This sweet little guy was SO good during the session. I just loved his little wrinkles on is forehead and his sweet little lips. I get the honor of being his daycare provider starting at the end of May. Excited to hold this little guy all the time =) Hope you enjoy~

Dylan {2011 High School Senior}

Where do I start with this session... If you can believe it I used to babysit this handsome, young looking man! I can not believe this kid is graduating already!!! He has changed so much in the last couple years. I have been good friends with his parents for some time now but life of course got busy for me when I started my own family so I don't see them as often as I used to. But this senior holds a special place in my heart and I will always feel like I have a little bit of a influence on him =) I wish him the best in his future, that he has a blast in the years ahead of him but is smart about what he does. I hope he dreams big and isn't afraid of taking chances. I'm very proud of you, Dylan~

baby boy {L}

Is there such a thing as a perfect baby? Of course there is! =) And this little guy was perfect when it came to taking his newborn pictures. He didn't care if he was naked, on his tummy, stuffed in a pea pod, or hung in a sling. The only time he cried was when he was hungry which was only twice in the almost 3 1/2 hour session we did! His mom is a classmate of mine and as you can see she has two gorgeous daughters and now third one is a charm, she got her boy! I'm so excited for her little family and would like to thank her SO SO much for letting me try a few new things and being "all for it" when I suggested them. I could have taken pictures of this adorable little boy with a ton of hair ALL day long, and I don't think he would have minded either. You guys are really blessed and I'm so happy for you guys.

What is more precious than babies? Nothing really. They are so tiny for such a short time that we forget how little they were once. I find it funny how in pictures they look so much bigger than they are. When I was doing this session for a good friend of mine I could not believe how "light" this little guy was! And to think that my youngest son was almost a pound lighter than him. When it comes to babies, a pound is HUGE =) I hope you all enjoy these as much as I do~

It was super cold the day I shot this session. We didn't get to many shots because it was SO windy. If the wind wouldn't have been so harsh I think it would have been a nice day. But I guess that is what you get for living in Northern Minnesota; beautiful weather one day and the next bitter harsh coldness! We managed to get a few good shots despite the weather. Hope you enjoy this cute little family~

B {is 6 months}

I can not believe baby girl {B} is already 6 months old. She literally gets cuter and cuter every time I see her! It's so much fun when they get to be this age because their little personalities start to come out. And I just love how much she jabbers! She talks and talks. I was so excited to get this session out to people too because I just started making the adorable headbands this little beauty is wearing. Hope you enjoy~

Two younger brothers + One older brother

I have been photographing this family for the last two years. I am so blessed they continue to have me come back. I love photographing clients more than once and seeing how they have changed since the last session! This session was primarily for {C} who is going to be two and {J} who is 3 months old, but we always have to try and get a shot of all three of the boys so at some point we had to add the oldest brother {K}! Well it is always a little challenge to get a that "smile at the camera" shot with kids, but let me tell you it's even more challenging with 3 little boys all under the age of 4 and trying to do it in a house! =) So we tried a few different things to try and get at least a shot with them all in it. For all of those out there that have little boys, you totally know what I mean. To get a little guy to sit for a period of time of let's just say 30 seconds, well it'd be easier to just about anything. haha.... Then we tried to do some shots outside with {C} but offda, was it cold out. We got a few at least. So anyways, here is a preview of the two younger brothers and then adding the oldest~

It had been almost two months since I last did a session and boy did I miss it! I enjoyed every minute of it. I guess it made it even better when you have a gorgeous couple like this... and to make it even better they are my brother and sister-in-law! {I} kept things interesting with his ideas and craziness. My oldest son is going to be just like his uncle {I} I think =) Full of energy and crazy (which isn't a bad thing)! I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

It was a little bit cool that day so we had to do the best we could to keep baby girl {K} warm with some cuddling and feeding. I was excited to meet this little man but also had the pleasure of photographing him. I've been lucky enough to capture many memories for this family and I am so honored they keep having me back!
Baby {j} did so well after finally getting him to sleep. It's funny how a three day old baby sleeps all the time except when you want to take some cute "posed" pictures. I had a chance to try out some new newborn hats I had gotten and was so excited with the shots we got with them. Hope you enjoy this itty bitty boy.....

I have kinda neglected my blog posts lately because I have been so busy with sessions. Which has been great and I am loving every minute of it. But now it's time to blog away these beautiful clients I have been photographing!

Photographing family {M} was so much fun. The two oldest were just crazy and full of life and then the youngest one was just calm =) soaking in everything that was going on around her. I was so excited about some fun shots we got and hope you enjoy them as well....

princess {B}

This little one year old is so adorable! I was so excited when her mom asked me to take her one year pictures because all I could think about is how beautiful her eyes are! She is only a few weeks younger than my youngest son and I think they would make a pretty cute couple =) As we were taking pictures she wouldn't smile, yet we would get in the car and she'd be in her car seat smiling away! EVERY TIME.... it was so funny! There were so many neat things for this curious one year old to see: leaves, people, rocks, sticks, etc. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do~

the first sacrament {Baptism}

When my high school classmate had asked me to photograph her daughter's baptism I was excited! And not until I was there actually capturing the love in everyone's emotions was I so grateful for being asked to do this! I was so surprised with how many images I got at the end of the time and so happy about all the candid shots that were captured. That is my favorite thing about photographing is being able to capture those feelings that you don't usually capture and more importantly remember. I hope these new parent's will see these images and be given joy and reminded about the day their child was baptized and welcomed into God's house! Thanks again for this opportunity! You ARE blessed! And of course your little {S} is so cute!!!!!

Tanner {Greenbush-Middle River 2011 Senior}

I was excited and nervous about this session because it was the first time I'd be doing a senior session with a boy! =) Boys/guys/males whatever you want to call them don't really have a variety of "poses" they can do like the ladies do. But with that being said I was very happy about all the shots we got. Tanner wasn't much on smiling with his teeth, which was kinda crazy cause he has nice teeth and when he would smile (while the camera was down of course) he had a great smile. But his mom said that he has always "smiled" like that, so I guess it's totally perfect! Hope you enjoy....

This little girl was my fourth THREE year old I've photographed within a one week period. But she was quite different than the rest =) She had her own personality and attitude jam packed into her little body! Her mom is my cousin so we tried doing some shots without Mom there but that didn't work like we thought it would have. Thankfully we found a few good assistants (THANK YOU Becky & Hannah) to help and we ended up with a pretty good session considering the way the beginning went. Thanks for letting me photograph this little girl with a teenage attitude! hee hee

This beautiful little girl was so good at listening and "looking at the camera and smiling"! Her mom had said they had been practicing and she sure seemed like a natural =) She had the cutest painted nails and little flower ring she wore. By the end of the session she was really showing through her cute little personality showing me how her mom "shakes it" and how her dad "shakes it"... SO funny and cute!! Hope you enjoy....

There is such a huge difference between boys and girls! I know, I know... I say it all the time and you'll probably hear all about it again when in my next post too but good golly girls have so much more "attitude" and diva-ness! It seems like every little girl knows how to put their hands on their hips and "strike a pose". Little Ms. M is turning three and is cute as can be! She has the cutest little smile, but had a hard time "smiling" for the camera. As you can see in some of the pictures she has almost a scowl on her face. Well she kept doing that while saying "cheese!" It was the funniest thing and I could not figure out how to get her to relax her face and just smile.... I was out of options but we still got a lot of good ones without the whole "scowl" look. But this is what I love about my job.... at this point in her life this is how she "smiled for the camera" and in almost all of the pictures I could just hear her "CHEESE!" She's three and she probably won't continue to do it, so when her mom looks at these pictures she will be reminded of the session and all the "tries" of getting her to smile right. Yet that was her smile for the session. I loved it!

{3} pretty girls and their parents

What a cute family this is, with three little girls. The mom used to babysit my sister and I and I can still clearly remember some of those evenings! And then when I got old enough to babysit, I babysat her little brother =) Maybe once her girls get old enough I'll have to have them watch my boys! But anyways.... these girls are so beautiful and the youngest has so much punk. So much fun to see the way the oldest is so caring and motherly towards her youngest sister. You can just tell their home is full of love. I always love being able to sense that when looking through their images and I truly can see that with this family. Enjoy this small sneak peak (they will have 178 images in their final preview!) =)

I know I may be a little biased because he is my nephew, but seriously how adorable is he? He just turned one at the beginning of August and he is already testing his limits! I knew if my sister had a boy she would finally find out what I'd been going through with our first son. "Don't let the looks fool you" =) I would always say because boy is my oldest a little trouble maker and I think this little guy is going to follow in the footsteps! There are sure differences between girls and boys. But little boys are just something else and this one is especially something else. Loveable, kissable, hugable!! Just so dang cute =) Your Aunty loves you SO much~

This adorable little baby girl is one of my best friend's baby! This is her first baby and there is really something special about your best friend having her first baby. As a mother I already knew the absolute joy and unbelievable love she was about to experience. Baby's are truly God's little miracles, just everything about them is amazing! I was so happy to be able to take her newborn pictures and had so much fun. She is just so cute! And she really isn't as big as she looks in the pictures, she is just tiny! I have to thank my aunt for knitting the little cocoon for me!! Thanks Aunty Rhonda!! So excited for you Tiff and Trav, enjoy her because they grow ever so quickly! Love you guys~

This sister and brother were darling! The big sister was so pretty and the little brother was a busy two year old! We met at a park, where it was exceptionally busy.... "L" was a great picture taker and was ready for a picture whenever I asked. "G" on the other had was too busy going from thing to thing, pretty typical for a two year old boy. Little Riot "C"

This little boy was sure a character. My sister warned me that he was a riot and within the first 15 minutes I understood what she meant! It was a pleasure and got some pretty good laughs from this little guy who just turned three. Like most other 3 year olds he wasn't all that into looking at the camera and smiling which is certainly fine with me as long as I can capture some of his "real" character. Looking through the pictures I could totally see and remember what he was saying or doing at that time. It was a perfect evening and we were even able to get some shots with is little brother who looks SO much like him it's crazy =)

Sweet Little "A"

This is my cousin's daughter! She looks so much like her mother it's crazy =) We were finally able to keep our session scheduled after about four times of rescheduling due to rain. It was a great evening although the mosquitoes almost ate us alive we survived and got some pretty cute shots of sweet little "a" and her parent's!

The evening seemed to be perfect- it was nice out and there was a slight breeze to keep the mosquitoes away. So we started and everything seemed fine until we went to the park at which point those nasty mosquitoes basically tried to eat us alive! So our session ended quickly but we still got some pretty cute shots =) Such a cute little family....

This little girl was a bit tired because she insisted on not taking a nap the day of her session. But despite her lack of sleep she wasn't crabby, she just didn't want to look at the camera and smile- that's alright though. At the age of three these little people can only control so many things and one of them is whether they will sit and smile or not. Gotta love 'em! I think I captured some of her personality throughout the session, and that is what I truly strive for =) Oh I can't forget to mention her adorable little tutu and flower head band! "K" has been one of my best friends since grade school! We grew up together and have many many memories together. She has lived in New York for the past 5 years but we have still remained great friends. We talk on a daily basis and I hope God has a plan for her to return home! Miss spending time with her.... These two little boys were the best behaved boys I think I have ever met! I had the pleasure of taking pictures of these grandparents with their SIX grandchildren all of which are so adorable! Grandpa kept all the kids in line so it actually went very smoothly considering how young some of the kiddos are. I had great help from the mom's which was great! Thanks girls! These two are clearly in love! It was my first engagement session and they were willing to try whatever. I've been friends with *T* forever and was honored to do their engagement session! My due date for Ian was only 18 days before their wedding... thankfully he came about 3 weeks before the wedding. I had a hard time fitting into my dress at that point much less if he would have been on time! =) They ended up have an absolutely beautiful wedding!

It was my pleasure to do these two love birds engagement session. They brought some great ideas with them and found a great location for some of the shots. The sky that day was a gorgeous blue with nice white puffy clouds, making for some great shots!

This was my first maternity session and I had an absolutely beautiful/glowing mommy to be! This bun in her oven was her fourth child! I had so much fun with this session and had a great first time maternity model to enjoy it with.

Here I am about 37 weeks pregnant with Ian. My husband was the one taking the pictures and I'd have to say he did a pretty good job.

This is my oldest son who just turned three! I can't believe how fast the time went by. He looks so much like me and is just as stubborn. His smile is intoxicating and those blonde curls are adorable! He is so smart and is learning something new every week. He's a great big brother and absolutely LOVES is Daddy!

This is my youngest son, Ian. He was born on 09-09-09, which was not planned, but apparently a popular date for mother's to be with scheduled c-sections! Now he looks so much like my husband it's funny! He is growing at a faster rate than Noah did and has cheeks that I have a hard time not constantly kissing! Oh and his legs are so chubby it's ridiculous! =)

These two boys bring me great joy! It's hard to describe the love you have for your children, but it is defiantly unconditional! I'm excited and scared at the same time to see what kind of men they grow up to be. The world is changing so quickly and kids have to grow up so quickly with it... I just pray they make good decisions as they grow up, but realize along the way mistakes will always be made!
